Chap. 1, scatterings & fragments

1.
‘ all is source ‘

a couple centuries ago, Pascal made the point,

no matter where we go, higher or lower in time,

we are still in a space between nothing and infinite,

a very useful proclamation. . .
after endless revelations, and awakenings,
i am certain of one thing, that all is boundless,
there is no difference between internal and external

this is a fascinating fact to perceive, and to wonder,

it has truly unlimited dimensions and factors, to perceive,

yet it comes down to this, time and time again; we are one with the universe. . .

when i saw this – it was the first point, beyond it was much more; dimensions, boundlessness,
spaciousness, light, — buddha-nature, or existence-consciousness-bliss, saccidananda

was essentially how i perceived it,

culminating in an understand of pure fields and lands, that all is the pure land,

that all forms are the same source – an unlimited, boundless source, that is life, love, and existence;

yet it was all the same – my computer, a keyboard, a desk, all are the same energy of light;

and as i walk through the world as a buddha,

with no concerns, no externals, no joy or sorrow that is anything other than an enlightening liberation;

a boundless teaching that shares the same one message of energy;

right before we think that all is one; we think that all is two.
always return to the source, to home, to the present, to yourself;
to light, love, liberation, happiness. . .
which are depend upon the source.

‘ mila light ‘

Mind goes from light to infinite light,
Speeds from once essence to the next,
Filled with the Dharma of essence bright,
Sees as information, clear data, not text.

3.

. magician’s book ‘

.

.
There exists a magician’s book
Where every page that you may look
A spell that liberates –
A key to heaven’s gates;
This golden, priceless treasure,
For both additure and erasure,
Never relates to coercion;
& there is not just one version.

One secret is, write for thyself
Then place the book upon the shelf
Two secrets are, young whispering star,
You are just fine just as you are;
Three secrets are, don’t learn to write,
But dance & sing with all your might.

If you seek for inspiration,
Or a chance of divine vision;
Heed my secrets one to three;
They hamper not the memory.

Forget my rules; all others too,
& sing the song that’s all of you;
Live not for another’s mirth,
As you unfold your days on Earth;
But seek the very true gaiety,
As you develop spontanaeity.

The depth of love, the loss of pain,
For me is just the falling rain;
The sky, which envelops space
Is change, or like a fond embrace.

If one would examine, careful, snail,
Not much different than good ship sail.

What message could contain in one
Joyfully enamored – done?

It seems to be a fleeting sense,
To speak once more of innocence,
So I will let the passing by
And gaze once more unto the sky.
Miracles come by dint of habit;
When you’ve the graceful skill of rabbit.
What are leaves? Leaves are trees;
I, Beauty, sing their melodies.

Write ten lines, seems t’be the rule,
An’ then forsake the silly school.
Translate me in German, she said.
Is it just for dummies, this bread?
Is it just for poets, t’be cryptic?
Just for healers – anti-septic.

What if a thousand yrs of peace
Were in your hand, would you release?
What if you had to let it go,
Would you then let another grow?
Would you call up Only Child,
and say, release me to the wild?

I had only 3 Questions
and remembered but 6 lines.
Follow your heart (2x)
is the way to enter, start
From wherever you may be;
Breathe once, & you are free.
Chance & dance, endanger it;
Let voice of reason throw a fit.
& when you have tenderly smiled,
You will have found your gentle child.

Remember 10? I only four
and I hear heaven at my door;
just 4 lines to silence it;
No word or action ever dents it.

Infinite temple, the soul:
Infinite shelter, the whole.

it all did once come down to this. . .
one heart is the tenderness.
The crickets chirp for merriment;
A voice as one, and heaven-sent:

Awake! Awake! Ye cricket-God!
Give your devout servants a nod;
Breathe life into their growing hearts,
Life again, into all the hearts.

I tell you, where the forest lay,
It stretched out upon the Milky Way.

Growth tall and vast;
Not slow or fast;
Each trunk a nod to golden time,
Each species homage to the clime.

So the daffodil
Is with us still.

She came through, She came through.
This is the only song I know.

Is it bad form – to save a universe,
Because another may wish to save it?

Or is it may fault that
The silly wish to pave it?

Mayhaps it is, and this is why
poets sing of ocean, blue sky.
Indeed, the best poet perhaps,
Is one who only takes naps.

Let us return.
We never burn.

Still you must know;
Do not swat mosquito.

The deer have been singing new-song lately;
They used to dance around so stately.

I won’t tell of them;
But if you listen, rhythm;

When one note reaches their ears
Of my song, life-heart of theirs;
One-heart, one-song, banish tears;
One-life heart within- who hears?

I breathe – avast –
Shiver me timbers!

We fly so fast –
So many decembers!
So I sing – Forest Clear,
To the Spirit-Heart of Deer
Even writing, even writing,
with all its lighting,
kiting.

may a halo of light surround you & bless you!

To express it more simply: Active and passive resistance to war is absolutely necessary and essential, and will be carried through effecitvely when enough minds are turn to the light.

Growing up in an infinite computer,
I naturally always had an immunity
to false and weakening memes.
Growing up in a boundless garden,
I have always had great vitality,
and the strongest of dreams.

That cracked in long may;

Dreamcatcher:
may your words
form a halo
round my heart,
Where all that’s light may enter,
and all that isn’t, depart.

Dreamcatcher:

You’ve found my heart.
Playfully how,
could we ever part?

Dreamcatcher:
thrice born now,
A lilting air;
Expect on brow
A angel fair.

an angel in the heavenward flight,
and a foe to all foes of an infinite light.

tantra comes in waves of bliss
there is no meaning or reason for this
and heaven comes down with grace of a kiss;
dakini, she knows me.

illusion vanished years ago,
when i spent the night in hollow snow,
and planted a garden that will forever grow;
dakini, she is free.

love, in heavenly flight,
the birds continue their night,
and the stars shine out for a light;
dakini, she loves me.

angel from heaven so gloriously bright;
pure glory and beauty – a sight
eternally present tonight;
dakini, sing so free.

dakini, sing to see,
come down from the tip-tip of highest tree;
sing down, smile down, fly for free;
sing of health, and of vitality.

fly with me on wings of our secret power;
fly with me for days within an hour,
do not share with jaded flower,
dakini, stay so free.

where does heaven reside? the heart of love
is not here or there, but the graceful dove
is the light of heaven in garden grove;
dakini, stay so free.

‘ space ‘

.

Space.
If I had a best friend,
I would hope he would be like the wind.
Quite invisible;
Everywhere,
Inexhaustible.

In fact I have a best friend –
And he is very much, quite like the wind.
Nameless?
He plays around
With beautiful sound.

There are names for friend –
In so many languages, the same.
I have so many friends –
In so many spaceless places!

For instance – the butterflies, —
As they dart about —
Do things you’d never dream of
If you never checked them out.

Fast circles! Straight lines!
Darting and weaving dances!

Freedom entrances,
And the forest inter-twines ;

Save all your beauty for me!
This beckoning echo
Of the earth.
We’ve asked too much
And too little.

There is something we missed —
The wisdom of the simple.
Here is my temple:
Smaller people,
Vaster worlds.

Time is a free thing —
Jolly & meandering,
Less speak than sing.

Time a playful guest,
Beloved, and dearest,
A strayaway child, who
Blessingly smiled.

I have two friends,
Time, and the wind,
And a third one, now,
Too many, anyhow.

They say things —
My heart brings
A heartful of song
To heal the wrong.

My bestest, best friend —
This would have to mend,
Just as the forest that grows,
Cultivated by sharp, cold snows.

I have found a million reasons to live,
Each new one is brighter than the last.
A new one strikes my soul to believe,
A mountain dwells — proud and vast.

Still, my inner child shines,
And says, my heart is mine.

The sky is good;
To fly is good;
To die is good,
So high is food.

As cold as the winter gets,
It is still by the fire one sits,
When one stays to get warm.

Every song we sing
Has twice its ring
Here in heaven.

What I’ve written,
My heart to open,
I heard you say
Yesterday.

It’s so funny, now,
When I think of Dao,
The steady heart-beat
The fire’s bright heat
Impossible to see,
Yet easily to be.

Sing newly, Song-leader,
far away from the Ceder,
powerfully & sonorous,
like a dragon in a desert
your refreshing concert
is the most wondrous.

The windbells go chiming
All to your perfect timing,
As the snow-bird singing
Fresh from the winging.

A deep breath, and smile,
And for less than a second
I will spend a while —
Back at the pond;

Story and illusion beyond —
The rest is from distant past;
May beautiful future come fast.
.
.
.
(these rest almost discarded, anyway.
.
.
.
.
Time passes on,
Body-Light-Glorious;
Perfected Winter Swan,
Divinesong, it is all for us.

My best friend, the wind,
Has not beginning or end;
Is quite beyond the mirth
Yet still practices to earth.

‘Somehow I knew from time before
What this life was all here for —
Just walk where no one walks,
And balk where no one balks.’

Deep, deeper, deepest;
Laughter is healing blessed.

‘ singing to trees ‘

.

Arms outstretched like the trees,
Swaying gently in the breeze,
I sing e’er new melodies;
I bring water for them
From the town
And light
From them
To the town.

If your song
Is bold and clear
You are eternally
So welcome here.

Sing & dance –
Take the chance –
Lighten your heart;
Let us now start

I wouldn’t say the trees
were unhappy before
you came, but definitely
so much happier since you share!

Instruct the songbirds in the forest
With your glad & joyful songs
Even as they share a vast wealth
Of information to pass along.

Infinite light. . . So very bright. . . Shrug the night. . . Take off in flight!

Golden light of the Sun,
Keep the heart of this one;
Forever happy & whole,
A walker on a stroll!

‘ culture ‘

.

Every culture contains wisdom going back thousands of years, and much further – yet they are all as simple as Life, Love, Peace, and Joy. To open the heart is to see new light every minute; and to live with wisdom is to share peace, as this is our essential nature. Fire-light, creativity, joyfulness, peace, health = open heart.

‘ love in their hearts ‘

.

Those who have love in their hearts will always be kinder, stronger, more intelligent, quicker, as well as calmer, more generous, healthier, and more at peace, than those who do not: this is why I say, do not worry. It’s the basic reason of why life is good: love heals, strengthens, renews, brings peace, joy, life, and light – it will always replace and supplant wrong.

‘ peace ‘

.

.
You would likely enjoy reading “The Joyous Cosmology,” by Alan Watts. In it he outlines the theory that substances such as mushrooms, LSD and mescaline are medicines for the mind, and that if used properly, they can be very healing indeed. He builds upon the work of Alduos Huxley, and several others – Huxley in particular worked with mescaline, while Watts’ short book is centered around an LSD experience of the divine. He makes several points about using them – it’s a different thing to use them to learn about one’s consciousness, and to use them simply to get high; and he also shares the advice, that “Once you get the message, hang up the phone.” In other words, he doesn’t encourage continual, or even life long use.

.

The first person I met my own age who had used LSD was not thrilled with having done so, not in the way that he did at least. He said he over-used it, for one month he took about 400 hits. . . Heh. Once I met another friend who said he took 400 doses at one time. . . This I never believe would be necessary or really a good idea, because one can get to the very highest realm with only a single dose.

.

It’s also very useful to have studied wisdom traditions, and have done some spiritual practice, (or simply, reflection and self-inquiry, if one prefers such words for it). . . in other words, to be at peace and happy already – if one is already in such a state, I do not see how a bad trip could really be possible. To really be there, for instance, would maybe be like spending two or three weeks in such a state.

.

Books like The Farther Reaches of Human Nature, by Abraham Maslow, or A Primer on Group Psychotherapy, by Ray Naar, would be useful ones, although there is a great deal of good information out there… Indeed, discerning the best or most accurate information from false information is one of the best keys to life – I have understood it as the Principle of Selectivity. Of course, one of the best ways to live life is one where one is indifferent to pleasure or pain – goes about living to make life happier and more beautiful for others, and not for oneself. . (In the words of Stevenson, caring more about what seeds we sow than what seeds we reap.)

.

In the same way that Watts’ experience went further than Huxley’s, in my own view at least – our own experiences can go further than Watts’, if that’s our karma or destiny (or perhaps, if they just do). To quote Goethe, “It is a poor pupil who doesn’t surpass his master.” This is not to say that we should ever disparage those who have gone before, and indeed, humility often is the best way to go. Essentially, if one reaches such a place, it will forever be a private affair, only to be shared with the dearest, closest friends, who wish to know – sharing such a personal experience with strangers is difficult at best – and usually done best in metaphor or art, or simply kindness.

.

Indeed, such a glimpse of the divine is only a starting point for many – and the rest of one’s life may be done with the memory, or perhaps it is done in search of truth and harmony. The most important thing may be that we learn that all sentient beings have such light as their source; and therefore, all should be cared for and protected. Personally, in all likelihood due to my own genetic and environmental upbringing, it is essentially harmoniously linked with the ecological movement – that which calls for a radical shift, the sooner the better, of our entire treatment of nature. . . Nature is heavenly and divine, some say, but she is also a tender child we must take care to nurture.

.

I wax poetical, but what I mean is something I have known since very early childhood – if we wish to do anything, first we ought to learn about peace. . . create and share peace; and live in harmony so that we will have many, many thousands of years on this planet, to explore higher truths of life if we wish – or colonize the stars, or what have you.

.

It is also helpful to bridge the gap between religions and cultures – for if I, on this soil, on this land, take the medicine and see the divine, in full, then someone anywhere in the atmosphere, anyone in the planet would, or could, also have the same experience – so therefore, language barriers come down, and one sees the thread running through all traditions.

.

Several of the inherent qualities of the experience – and truthfully, I do admit the possibility of being influenced by my predecessors, but I noticed these things very keenly – are that it ought to be shared, and also that it feels like it is sweeping the planet, and it will happen very soon, if not instantly – for, after all, what is illusion? We understand that illusion vanishes in the light of truth. And what is truth?

.

Back to the questions – which is alright. . . but it does seem to be a guide, if we see the highest experience – then; when in daily life, we again reach that feeling, that light and divine life are the reality – it may be that we are coming very close to realizing it again; that divine life, and pure land, is indeed here and now. The singularity – or world-wide awakening to the light and love which ALL beings are.

.

Such a view will surely heal the world.

.

And yet – in this gymnasium (to use the phrase of the beloved, brilliant Vivekananda) of ours, to share such realizations straightaway and right out – this can only be done when there is deep trust and peace between the parties – in confidence, with a very beloved friend, with whom there is total trust. (See Dogen, Only those who have the great capacity of genuine trust can enter this realm [the realm of the buddhas]). So in lieu of this, and still wishing to share it with the whole universe, the best idea would seem to do so in art, in metaphor, in poetry and in song, as well as with selfless service to the ideals of harmony, understanding, peace and this sort.

.

Myself, as well as many others, have found such beauty in every culture, in every wisdom tradition around the globe – indeed, getting more than one point of view has been very beneficial. As we believe, only when there is peace between religions can there be peace in the world. As well as the fact that without understanding, true peace is not easy.

.

The reason I speak of peace – besides my personal experiences, and the fact that each wisdom-tradition, universally seems to proclaim that to seek peace, to share it, is the highest goal of life, and that oneness is where true peace is found – is that in some places, peace talk is not allowed, it is discouraged by society even to the extent much harm – so for this reason, I encourage it, and believe it is the best way.

.

There is one string running through the pearls of humanity’s wisdom traditions, and that would seem to be the source of the universe – the daylight of reality, to borrow a phrase from the Celts.

.

.
29.
‘ on persuasion ‘

.

.
The inherent issue I have with persuasion is that it is a form of coercion. The only time I feel it is really a good thing is writing for peace; the rest of the time I leave it alone. In the idea of writing for peace, I found a similarity one day when I came upon the Leaflets of the White Rose; it was joyful to see them, and many of the ideas are still true and valid; to turn off the war machine, etc., is among the primary memes that can have a positive effect in the world. It’s one of those things that can happen very soon.

.

Passive resistance to war in all its forms, and active spreading of the message of life, peace, and so forth, are some of the most effective ways. Learning to be effective in the world, being unified in purpose, because when we are divided we are weakened, yet unified we are strong. Yet that’s only one aspect and can be gone beyond, as all others.

.

Classicly, attempting to gain supernatural powers is a distraction, and the best thing I would generally say is to not worry about them, these things will develop naturally in time. I’ve spent almost my whole time understanding nature, and seeking the highest, and there are some good ways to get there. As you say, consciousness is essentially infinite; as I have put it, life is infinite; overcoming the desire for dominating others is one of the very-most essential keys to this whole process. It’s one of those ancient wisdom things, that the truly powerful has no wish to interfere with others generally.

.

I do of course pray that all love all, yet for this to happen naturally it has to happen without persuasion. There are some very beautiful aspects of life that can only be seen from the view-point of peace; and the highest view is certainly one situated in deep peace. So I go there and share that we are all creators, leaders, and cornerstones…

.

Protection and peace is a good direction to focus one’s energy, because it’s that non-violent way of leading with Gentle Action. If I can walk through this world vital, and unharmed, then others may see that I have done so, and by my life as my message, some good may come of it.

.

There are hundreds, or more, little tricks to good health, for instance, that I certainly wish to share. My dad shared a lot with me, for instance the trick of looking at the horizon, trees very distant, which relaxes the eye muscles – and the trick of gently rolling the eyes up toward the back of the head, physiological button which relaxes the body. . . not a replacement for

Long to the West where the sun
is always East and orange,
down by the brook running chillio,
‘Twas a nighttime bright reflection of a swallow.
Quickly flying, graceful, hale,
and mindful of the hillio,
Traceless as the boundless glades
of greening ever dreaming
of a singing in a bringing

so much love!! i wanted to type earleir into facebook. and i didn’t. why didn’t i? no reason ever to not tell the people you love you love them. yet we mostly don’t. . .well, at least there’s this. peace. 🙂

you really don’t have to ever do anything, because you are the source. .

earlier i thought to investigate that,

i realized the best possible thing is to ask – how is it, why is true, that to do nothing, is the very best thing one can do?
and the reason is that is essentially the skill of solving violence,
and when you get the skill aqcuired,

and even mastered,

you have done it,

and there is

nothi
ng left

to do.

solve violence in yourself, and then act, positively, to engage in peaceful friendship with others; peaceful friendship is the only essential means to truth, the only path to truth.

but it always occurs first, within,

and whatever your connection is. .

and that’s why it’s best. .

connection with the source.

is the very bset thing we can do.

and to get that, we must sit and simply exist.

I am a field mouse
I live in a house
I jump in the hay
and go where I may
no rising, no fall,
no great and no small,
joy and laughter exclaim!
do you know your name?

.

what is there?
there’s beauty here
that dances in
the fire of your heart.

.

when I think of
what I’ve seen,
on skies tha laugh
an’ clouds that sing,

.

so white and blue,
of joy with you;
and laughing bull,
so bright, joyfull;
there’s nothing there,
but love, so fair,
and glad, my friend,
we ride the wind.

.

if I were a pauper,
I’d still have life and love,
just like the little hopper,
just like the skies above.

‘ the river ‘

.

.

.
I am having such a wonderful time out here. I’m writing this on the 4th, the second day of the trip. It’s been so amazing, rejuvenating, restful and an adventure all at once. Yesterday and today I spent hours running up and down the mountain, eploring as far as possible without getting lost. Both days I saw many things I wanted to check out more, and today I did, and tomorrow I will. I just wish I’d brought my camera, but then, I can take it all in, remember it always, and I’ll remember the camera next time. . .

.
Yesterday I saw a thousand amazing things, today I got to explore them more. . . It has been so wonderful. It’s more beautiful than I could possibly describe. I felt so close to God and nature Yesterday and today. Running up and down the mountain – hiking and climbing – is one of the most enjoyable things, and the solitude, serenity and beauty, awesomeness of it all, bring one back to God.

.
Several things I remember most are all the trees and rocks; the various types of flora, especially moss seems lovely. . . Besides merely running and walking and breathing; spiritually invigorating, I would climb trees a lot, now and then, small straight ones 4-7 in diameter, which is fun. 🙂

.
Memorable: there is one great tree, 60 ft. or more, that’s fallen over, facing down the slope. But its roots are connected to a mostly flat jumble of roots, dirt and rock, about 14 by 7 ft or so, and there are two smaller trees going the opposite direction. The massive tree is resting in some other trunks, and is completely solid all the way up, I only went a little more than half today; it’s pretty high up.

.
The other most memorable feature is this little stream, and its beauty is truly indescribable. It runs a long way, I discovered its length today; it’s a good marker for exploring the larger territory around it and not getting lost. There are many spots along it that are incredible and awe-inspiring, and rocks and mossy spots through its length. The biggest of these is a cove of rock that has many great features, a long stream on one part of its entirely mossy surface, a poool at the bottom of which, and many other sections . . . I’m not describing it well, perhaps, because this was one place I only saw briefly, but I’ll go back in the morning. Perhaps the coolest thing about the stream is where it originates from within the ground, under some rocks, which follow the tiny ravine on up the hillside.

.
Another thing about all these mountainous sights, is that they’re beyond the designated hiking area. . . So I don’t have to worry about seeing anyone; and I wouldn’t have had this adventure if I hand’t left that area behind. I wasn’t worried about it because the fence was at the end of a trail. At first it was like a great unknown; and I had to be careful not to get lost, but now it feels more familiar and comfortable, but no less incredibly awesome and beautiful. I’m just more at home in it. Truly the most remarkable aspect is, how spiritually and wholly invigorating it all is. The serenity and beauty really does seem to bring one home to oneself, and nature and God. . .

.
July 5th. . . I just got back from my hike. Not too much to tell; I climbed a white tree about twelve feet – I need to learn their names – that was great. On the other side of the mountain (hill?) I found another stream coming from underground. This one ran into one of the most awesome clearings, the forest abruptly clears and there’s a rocky, grassy area that down to the bottom – and the stream runs through it, so it’s wet throughout, and I saw a frog. At the bottom the creek is completely beautiful. More boulders and rocky, pebbly stream beds, and another over-hanging, much smaller cove. . . It’s all picturesque and familiar. At one place there’s a very large, flat rock, and the stream spreads out, with a ton of minnows there, right before a 2 1/2 ft fall. . most of the rock is out of the water.

.
I didn’t stay gone that long today; I sang “Dragonfly” to a dragonfly, and I saw the same one, dark blue wings and an almost black body, two other times that day; I think it was following me. And I saw a turtle from a long way off, carefully climbing down the hill, that was the high point of my day.
We had a campfire last night, pretty nice, and I woke up early before dawn and lit it again. I may go swimming in the river later. . .

.
So, I did find the river and go swimming in it, when I got back I was so tired I slept for two hours, which felt great. Then I studied for a bit, and then everyone left for the fireworks show. I stayed at the campfire, because I don’t like crowds very much; and I gathered some sticks and had a sandwich and milk and got the fire going. After I did, I kind of wished I hadn’t gotten it so big, because I wanted to go back in and study chess, but I got out a flashlight and went over games by the fire; then I started writing this.

.
Now they’ve come back from the fireworks show, and I’m back in the cabin finishing this. . . I probably shouldn’t have the chocolate chip cookies right here on the bed. . . but, I’ve already had all I want, probably for a while, a week maybe. . . I don’t want to be anti-social, but I just want to study chess, and sit and think and write. I’m glad I stayed; I got to see a light show of my own. I really love campfires. 🙂

.
Oh, I wanted to mention something; Old Orchard, juice concentrate Berry Blend, is so great and very healthy. I wanted to share, just that it’s so delicious. 🙂

‘ balance ‘

(in 2015)

.
balance restored, paradise returns

.

all lifted up to infinite life.

.

.
Balance is being restored at an ever increasing rate, faster than any time in the last 100 years; we are awakening, repairing our ways, and saving the earth. . .
mother earth notices our love, and returns it, as the connection is re-made, and the sacred hoop is reformed.
Today in my land – where we recently had so many hot summers, too hot, it is cooler again, as it should be.
Mother Earth can cool herself down, but only with the help of our love, awakening, and divine life on earth;
that is – we are equals, to all life, not greater, higher or lesser; part of the balance and harmony.
As we awaken, we restore the balance. As the balance and harmony is the most important.
As we are awakening, our ego is calmed down by love – we are healing. This is happening.

.

It should not be 100º in April, nor should it be 110º for several weeks straight – in this place;
It should not be an arid desert –
and we are returning to lush.

.

As we awaken – all over the world, we return to divine, infinite harmony, and this is happening;
the balance is being restored more quickly than ever, and life is returning to paradise,
lush, infinitely bountiful, beautiful.
may all know peace, strength, beauty and love.
may all forms and lives be protected and cared for,
may all know life and healing.
Protect all species, restore balance and harmony.

TO THE VIRGIN[35]

A thousand hands, devoutly tender,
Have sought thy beauty to express,
But none, oh Mary, none can render,
As my soul sees, thy loveliness.

I gaze till earth’s confusion fadeth
Like to a dream, and leaves behind
A heaven of sweetness which pervadeth
My whole rapt being—heart and mind.

or

Glad I dwell beneath the mountains
Smiling in the darkest night;
Here of love are many fountains
Flowing daily free and bright.

And her sacred waters lift
My thirsty soul above to soar
Where, though still in life, I drift
Overcome, near Heaven’s door

Cradled there in adoration
Never fear can strike my soul
Mother Queen of every nation,
Cleanse my heart, and make it whole.

The Mother by Sri Aurobindo is a very lovely work – short and complete, contains so much about Her – and her different forms, Kali, Mahakali, Mahashakti, and others. . .

Truly, the Mother has so many names and forms – in India, traditionally, every woman is thought of as our mother, and they are referred reverently to as Mataji, which means mother.
Sri Ramakrishna shared one beautiful analogy – the Mother is like a cat – to her kittens, her mouth is safe, loving, to carry them one by one to safety. . and yet to a mouse, her mouth is death. I think of this is as an anology – when we learn what brings complete renewal (to ourselves, and to all life, to mother earth and all species in the inter-connection), then we have all renewal, all healing, all strength, all peace, all beauty and power and love – we have our mother’s aid. . .
love and peace to earth – love to the mother
The divine mother has so many forms – divine earth, the stars; mainly, most all of us think of her as mother earth – and truly, she gives everything…

Hendrix and Joan and so many others inspired so many of us, in this next generation. .

Whitman is, essentially, the Jimi Hendrix of the 19th century. His accounts of the civil war are tremendous — he worked as a medic — and his intent love of nature was extraordinary, as well as his good nature toward all. The most wonderful example of humanity, when you have a whole continent to explore, and the natives to learn from.

‘It’s nearly dawn. I hear a sound
In the Galaxy
The country side is calling loud
In the Galaxy
Nature’s Life is gonna die
No more Harmony

This place is no more paradise
It used to be one million years ago
Now you should stop, and look around
Maybe you’ll fInd you’re not so proud
you’ve burned the trees
Spoiled the seas
Built your cities
And you just let it go

Birds have lost their pleasant voice
In the Galaxy
The country bell is here to tell
No more Harmony

Always waiting till tomorrow
There’s no hope if you just let it go
Open your mind, look at the sky
Dusty clouds obscured the sun

You’ve been foolish
Much too selfish
How will it be next century?
Nineteen eighty is the year
The Twenty first century’s near
There is so much left to do
You gave your orders, then you left
And we’ll just carry on’
Up From the Skies, Jimi Hendrix

‘I just want to talk to you
I won’t do you no harm
I just want to know about your different lives
On this here people farm
I heard some of you got your families
Living in cages tall and cold
And some just stay there and dust away
Past the age of old.
Is this true?
Please let me talk to you.

I just wanna know about
The rooms behind your minds
Do I see a vacuum there
Or am I going blind?
Or is it just remains of vibrations
And echoes long ago?
Th things like “Love the world”
and “Let your fancy flow”
Is this true?
Please let me talk to you
Let me talk to you.

I have lived here before
The days of ice
And of course this is why
I’m so concerned
And I come back to find
The stars misplaced
And the smell of a world
That is burned
A smell of a world
That is burned.

Yeah well, maybe, hmm…
Maybe it’s just a… change of climate
Hmm, hmm…
Well I can dig it
I can dig it baby
I just want to see.

So where do I purchase my ticket?
I’d just like to have a ringside seat
I want to know about the new Mother Earth
I want to hear and see everything
I want to hear and see everything
I want to hear and see everything
Yeah…

Aww, shucks
If my daddy could see me now
Everything, everything, everything, oh everything.’

(song lyr. Jimi Hendrixx)

‘Hurray I awake from yesterday
Alive but the war is here to stay
So my love catherina and me
Decide to take our last walk thru the noise to the sea
Not to die but to be reborn
Away from the lands so battered and torn
Forever forever
Oh say can you see it’s really such A mess
Every inch of earth is A fighting nest
Giant pencil and lipstick-Tube shaped things
Continue to rain and cause screamin’ pain
And the arctic stains from silver blue to bloody red
As our feet find the sand
And the sea is straight ahad
Straight up ahead
Well it’s too bad that our friends can’t be with us today
Well it’s too bad
The machine that we built
Would never save us that’s what they say
That’s why they ain’t comin’ with us today
And they also said it’s impossible
For A man to live and breathe undrerwater
Forever was A main complaint
Yeah and they also threw this in my face they said
Anyway you know good and well
It would be beyond the will of god
And the grace of the king
Grace of the king
Yeah
Ooo
So my darling and I make love in the sand
To salute the last moment ever on dry land
Our machine it has done its work played its part well
Without A scratch on our body when we bid it farewell
Starfish and giant foams greet us with A smile
Before our heads go under we take our last look at the killing noise
Of the out of style
The out of style out of style oh yeah
Oooo
So down and down and down and down we go
Hurry my darlin’ we mustn’t be late
For the show
Neptune champion games to an aqua world is so my dear
Right this way smiles A mermaid
I can hear atlantis full of cheer
Atlantis full of cheer
I can hear atlantis full of cheer
Oh yeah’
(song lyr. by the Rockets)

‘No way to compromise
I’m giving you the message
I really don’t futurize
We’re entering the space age
It’s time to wake you up
Before you find it’s too late
Can’t you see you’re in a trap
Why don’t you free the pressure?
It’s about time – Let us try
To find another place
Where we could live much better
Together we’ll win the race
As now the world’s a failure
Please take a look around
See what they’ve done to the earth
Nothing but dying crowds
But there’s a chance of rebirth
Space is wide – Let us fly
Run to the stars
See the sky wide-open
Run to the stars
Who knows what will happen?
Run to the stars
Starting mass mutation
Run to the stars
New civilization
Million miles beyond the cosmic darkened seas

‘We’ve made it to the sky
Travellin’ trough emptiness
Meteorites passing by
Automotion careless
Leaving lightyears behind
Always going further
Wondering what we’ll find
Is there any border?
Endless night – Endless flight
Run to the stars
See the sky wide-open
Run to the stars
Who knows what will happen?
Run to the stars
Starting mass mutation
Run to the stars
New civilization
Million miles beyond the cosmic darkened seas’

‘ to Rilke, forest of songs. . . ‘

‘ pledge of the ancients, or, forest pledge ‘

‘ tell of the light ‘
To Rilke:

This is a forest of songs.
To be here, one must sing one.
It should be a beautiful song,
This is the only price of admission;
But is is beautiful because you sing it.
(Bring a kitten, too!)
Co-evolution.

Pledge of the Ancients
I pledge to remain in forest, as one of its protectors;
I vow to maintain the pledge of the Ancient Masters.
Preserve their secrets, share only with the worthy –
Those who give up false in trade for the Earthy.
I will stay in forest, faithfully protect it;
‘Til each and all sing truly, ‘I respect it.’
I will not write words, hampering memory
Nor claim to others as being vison’ry.
I am a great healer, ’tis true, an’ said oft.
Where I walk is clear, an’ the ground soft.

My sing keeps the pollutants at bay,
By strengthening forest, this is the way
Our ancestors lived in beauty and mirth
From start to finish, their days on this Earth.

At age three, I knew all was light,
At age 18, I saw Infinite Light.
At age 27, I have become very bright;
Won’t you join me on this beautiful flight?

Never worship persuasion – It destroys the will:
Only learn to be strong, & kind, & still:
Peace is not passivity, it is only Chaos tamed;
Thus I return your Light; examined and re-named.

It is for ten minutes, sole, that the fish eagle hunts –
May you keep this wisdom in your rememberance.
The one fact of life I’ve to share with you:
We have learned all, now learn: There is nothing to do.

This do-nothing is what saves, villages & epochs,
States, castles & nations are preserved from the rocks.
Country folk & townsfolk both may learn a lot;
Seek not, grasp not: boundless love you’ve got.

IF you would seek the gold, beyond all measure;
This little tid bit, hold, & hide within as treasure:
Within the heart are realms, vast & infinite;
All free, all yours, & there’s no lack of bliss in it.

Read not others’; find the heart’s boundless home;
To which all o’ers aspire, whithever they may roam.
Create if you wish, or not, but do not follow others:
You’re Light, here, now, altime, my sisters and brothers.
I tell you true, that all is light;
Ne’er a cause to grieve, to fear, or to fight;
In the forest, songs of delight
Will keep you sheltered from the night.
In Light will you find your star & anchor
One breath shall cleanse the heart forever.
Never forget, & always remember:
You are here to be a lamplighter.

At day, look upwards to the Sun’s path,
It travels clear, it cuts a wide swath,
Somewhere between the eagle and moth
Is the sacred one, the seer named Thoth.

It will only take one moment – or six hours –
To gather yourself, to regain all your powers –
The kinds that bring rain in torrents of showers;
The kinds that grow wheat-fields & flowers.

Look upwards to the sky, it is your home;
Verily you are set; ready the stars to roam –
Make peace with your majesty, all is welcome;
You are equal – greater – to what task may come.

All has been told out of truth or of falseness;
Blind are the many, enamored of falseness;
Strong are ye few, jumping into the abyss;
Finding it soft as a flower-bed of tenderness.

Beauty verily – greatly – powerfully – is eye of beholder;
As wisdom is courted by braveness, the bolder
Are ready to bring new tasks to the shoulder:
The inner world is ready for you, O explorer.

‘ when we walk to-gether ‘

‘ the one wish ‘

When we walk together,
Hold your hand in mine;
My friend, my younger brother,
So brightly do you shine.

Elder brothers all, had I,
Set my own to walk apart;
Cultivating my small, glad I,
’til a total eclipse of the heart

left us all, standing together:
myriad forms, beings are one,
Fire sparks, lifting high weather,
Spirit-life sings with one tongue.

Heart-felt I, in the sacred river
Swim and laugh until play is done;
Heart-life, loved-life, and the Lover
Sing with joy-ful life, we have won.

Light aflame the fires of devotion:
Loved-life, heart-life, and the love
for which flow the sky and ocean
which glistens as a golden trove.

Speak not the words of love,
Let them whisper, a-soft, a-flowing
from one to another, low to above:
Whispering as one whisps, a-growing,

Delicately, sweetly, breathe, life of love.
If you think a flower that is growing,
has been planted by the planter –
for here – the shower is showing –
and wanting the wanter –

Poems can’t rehash, or recant, or

if there be such a one as these,

replant.

[ and then. .

as if in rebuttal to an insult. . ]

No flower was planted here for you,

especially not for you to unveil,

your ‘marvellous’ skill of

persuasion.
life is there to be loved, appreciated, viewed,

yet felt within –

not to be

pillaged.
for the one secret, the one wish, the promise,

the power, the key and the mantra, –

you should be using –

stability.

‘ gathering ‘
[ April 14, 2015 ]

nature’s song – life and beauty
Nature’s Truth and Wisdom —
Heart’s Life —
Our Nature is Truth and Freedom —
Infinite Life in Nature and Love —
Wisdom and Freedom in Rain and God.

‘I am in the leaves
of the one who believes.’
My feet are on the earth
ever since my birth;
I grow century by yearly-
to ever see more clearly.
I pick off the high branches
to improve tree life’s chances,
My only tools
are my feet and hands;
I am one with fools
and one with the Pure Lands.
No love in persuasion games-
Those lost objects’ true names:
I am home — infinitely free —
At rest with those who see:
Shelter of breath within the breath —
Forever safe, my Lord sayeth:
What have I become?
Kind heart — all welcome.
I am one with the winter snows
and the life which forever grows.
My Lord asks all to come —
Infinite heart is the true home.
My Lord asks all, “Set Free”
And wherever you may be —
Out from the sun’s hot swelter,
Infinite love will be your shelter.
Nothing is strife
But infinite life,
When seen from above
With the arc of love.
My Lord is infinite,
Knows no “this” law or “that”
Only pure sentiment;
With the grace of a cat.
Climb the highest mountains —
Seek the purest fountains —
Walk in peace on this earth,
Knowing full life is worth
Greatest joy since one’s birth.
Soar like eagle in sky —
For you to falter
Would be like spirit to halter
Or young man to die;
Yet in this place
Flows free, infinite grace,
Mind not any past failure;
Today is your full year.
Climb to higher mountain peaks
Then when your voice speaks,
All who hear will know gladness —
Never again seeking sadness.
Live for heaven, see her beauty,
This is the only duty.
The highest height, perfect balance —
It’s worth it, take the chance.
If you travel without care,
All the angels will guide you there.
Live for beauty, seek for truth:
It may only be seen in youth,
Remember, when pure love is sung,
We are made whole; we are made young.
The highest vision, beauteously,
Was gifted to me generously;
But I am nothing if not love,
So all that I have seen above
I pass along, that all may know
Infinite life, the squirrel may show.
Don’t pay for things dearly —
Only learn to see clearly,
Trust the one who has gotten peace —
Infinite, boundless, and release.
‘Persuade never,
Live in peace, forever.’

A little squirrel appeared to me;
Made all my vision clear, for free.
He went forty feet on,
And twenty feet higher
In what seemed —
The blink of an eye —
For he is wise,
And with his eyes
Seemed to say to me,
‘You know, you are in a dead tree,’
With real concern —
How well I learn! —
How well he knows —
I am safe. It shows.
I don’t mean to be alarming,
But if you think one is charming,
It’s better to do without,
Of this, have no doubt.

The squirrel is with me,
The birds sound so free —
No one is above them;
Oh Jove, how I love them!

And then I took
A second look —
Is this a dead tree?
Only the lower branches, I see.

‘ some peace ‘

when I look around,
I see peace,
as far as my eye can see,
and life is growing beautifully
upon this sacred ground,
it will never cease.

In the cool, early morning

‘ snatches ‘

to praise persuasion in itself
is the ruin of a nation;
to praise and practice peace
is healing and reclamation.
Come to the conclusion quicker:
we are making earth sicker,
why buy an i pad, old or new,
when it is unnecessary as glue?

help end consumption –
it creates destruction –
it removes sediment –
joy depends on it 0%
life, joy, health = free,
just let the species be.

complete total happiness and love
come from the heart, life, lived well

not a thing required, not a single one,
ignore any and all who ever try to sell.

‘ dear universe ‘
Dear universe and everyone,

This is a short blog filled with some quotes, and also my experiences.

‘Through my love for you, I want to express my love for the whole cosmos, the whole of humanity, and all beings. By living with you, I want to learn to love everyone and all species. If I succeed in loving you, I will be able to love everyone and all species on Earth… This is the real message of love.’ – Thay

Love is infinite. Life is infinite. At the highest level of life, all is seen to be connected, all life is one.

There are unlimited, boundless and infinite levels of experience, of life; they are each like a dream as one wakes up to a higher level.

To wake up from the dream of life to begin with, is the most profound experience it’s possible to have; it’s the first taste of non-duality,

It’s not the end, but the very first.
‘Feelings come and go like clouds in a windy sky. Conscious breathing is my anchor.’ – Thay
Peace and non-duality is the highest experience it’s possible to have – much higher than fulfilling any desire, because it transcends all such.

In other words – to experience boundless, infinite peace is much higher than fulfilling any material desire;
Yet nothing is required to be given up to get to such a level; nothing is ever lost – nothing can ever leave the source.
“Where can we go to find God if we cannot see Him in our own hearts and in every living being?” – Swami Vivekananda
All life is sacred, beautiful and valuable, worth protecting. In the highest view, all life is divine; the cat, the mouse, the tree, the ant, they are all seen to be divine, boundless and infinite.

Only by reaching peace can this divine vision be seen – this peace is nowhere beyond, it is within and throughout; it is the source of all living beings; and it is never far away.
There is pure health within every living being – and boundless faith in the health of oneself is the primary key to reaching a peaceful, natural, healthy, vital and happy state; one where strength is never faltering, one where doubt is never appearing.
Each living being has pure and perfect health as their natural state of existence; this can be regained with a few steps – nothing external is required.
Self-cure, or mind-cure, which has been within human thought for a while; is the practice of healing oneself;
it is good to heal oneself and then to share love and light with others.
All species are equally valuable, equally sacred, equally worthy of protection – to lose a single species is too much.
‘The Great Spirit is everywhere, it is not necessary to speak to [Her] in a loud voice.’ – Black Elk.
All is connected, and all life is one – this is the essential truth of life and of nature, which humanity has known forever,
This is the real peace, of which all others are reflections — Black Elk and Thay and others express this same one truth;
Those who live through war and maintain their pure health almost invariably express the same path to peace.
Peace is not a goal, not a destination; peace is the way.
Health, love, joy – light, life – all are interconnected; to be healthy is to be happy, and vice versa; to be at peace is to be vital, et cetera.
‘A few heart-whole, sincere, and energetic men and women can do more in a year than a mob in a century.’ – Swami Vivekananda
Just a simple random fact. . very true.
Be Life – Be Love, Be here and now. You are love, you are life, you are infinite.
Joy and truth and faith and hope to all,
Sincerely,

Jake.
Do not consume anything unnecessarily; once you get to this point, you are on the path.

‘ glisteni poem ‘
In a dream I saw
that peace is higher
than any desire –
this secret law
does not requite
with ‘might makes right,’
or the barbed wire fences;
it is more like the senses
when they are clear.

what fragrance blessed the earth,
when you arrived,
dear william?

what golden arrangement of fate?
what thrived?

don’t answer, don’t answer,
let the grace of the dancer
speak to starlight above,
for the grace of our love,
and the highlight of fate.
your life, joy incarnate,
your wisdom is pure.
your voice is sure.
break firmament.
just a little dent.
there – your strength,
this earth’s breadth and length,
this is your source seen clearly,
which you shared with us dearly.

flow into and out of this life –
let heaven know of your strife –
it is only one answer to call,
that the strength of life is all:

dear william, can you feel it now?
the ocean’s rise, the sacred vow –
the gentle swaying of the rain
as it splashes upon the pane?

this spark will rise and glisten, it,
dear fragment of the infinite,
has seen the stars you made,
and how it tells us of the glade!

it is only sky, this hope eternal,
that glistens in the mind supernal;
this song you sing protects our soul,
and lets us know that you are whole.

44.
‘ breathing ‘
[ similar time-frame as previous poem,
not especially special,
yet I adore the first line
& some of it. ]

🙂
Today is a holy day
(as yesterday was, as tomorrow is)
for if any day is a holy day,
all days are holy days,
where any land is a pure land,
all lands are pure lands.
So sing songs of cheer
Throughout the year –
For joy is wonderful,
And song is beautiful.
This healing verse
Will stay the hearse,
On a holy, holy day.
Breathing deep, sweet sighs of relief,
The infinite soul, ever free of grief –
Take less than what you give –
It is better to give than receive.
Breathe deep,
Joy keep,
On this beautiful, wonder-filled day.
Even if you’ve been down,
Your voice is pure joy sound;
Share with animals so fine,
Liev in the joyful sunshine.
For one song leads to another;
Enlightens our father and mother-
Here the boundless Earth sleeps,
Awake, forever joy and love she keeps.
Any day, every moment,
Is the birth of our Earth-
and every songbird testament
To what our life is worth.
Scatter not seeds to haste,
Where only speed leads to waste-
There’s beauty and love to create,
Child of peace, and wisdom aureate.

45. [ I like this poem far better than the previous. ]

‘ the next gen ‘

The next generation will be smarter than us,
if we give them our best
and a good clean earth
to play and to rest;
a fish eagle hunts only ten minutes a day;
are we so lower, all work and no play?
Peace stretches out before us,
and the days seem ever pourous,
as thoughts grow slower and longer,
Hybrid-heart makes life much stronger.

It would definitely seem to be
it is art that sets us wholly free,
breath it is, and there’s no mystery,
we’re here to free life from history.

I write poetry on little scrolls,
and toss them into a well;
Whether they reach the poles,
I don’t know, and could never tell.

Patterns pass by unnoticed,
Like a moonbeam verily kissed,
it fell up on her brow,
and went dancing to show how,
we, spirit, faery and sprite,
dance in the moonlight.

We open our hearts to the fire

‘ splashing of rain ‘

‘ to touch the infinite ‘
The splashing of rain,
Clip -clap, cling-clang –
The lark in a meadow,
and an absence of ego;
these are healing roots.
An absence of regrets-
Transparent response,
relaxed luminescence
the essence of being,
and the art of seeing.

To see life in a grain of sand,
To know the sweet undulation,
To experience sweet peace,
and infinite shelter,
this is my only aim.

To lark with Jetsun Mila
To laugh with christian sands,
To love with Hindu passion,
And join with Muslim hands.

To grasp at nothing, loving
Each instant of motion free;
And loving complex and simple,
This universe – our temple.

To join all life in one, bounteous song –
From heavenly range,
to live and hope without a care,
and to laugh and love without snare;

To live in a straight path
From any moment to here;

This is to clasp the divine
which only occurs under
the shelter
of love.

When you touch your desk,
You are touching the infinite,
Ever so lightly.

When you move your hand,
You create a ripple which affects every form in the universe,
as the whole universe is one whole, infinite fractal.

47.

‘ heavenl ‘
heaven knows no “this” law or “that”
heaven only knows love.
The happiest, always, ever, for a million, billion, trillion millennia,
always
lead the way.
the happiest.
The sanest, always, ever, for a million, billion, trillion millennia,
always
lead the way.
the sanest.
they are usually, and always, the same.

we’ve all heard the source of love bit – here’s another way
of saying the same thing.
.
I can’t see anothers’ heart as beautiful until I see that same beauty
in my own.
.
love is always kind of a nothing or always type of thing.
.
but since everyone deserves it, everyone should know
how to love.

48.
‘ do you know ‘
Do you know the point –
Where life and fragility meet,
Where strength and fragility are entwined?
In the game of hide and seek –
I can last an eternity,
I can’t be found.
49.
‘ poems ‘
‘ here ‘

‘ would eat ‘

Here where the bird nests
this climber rests,
high in the tree-
domain of ant and bee-
here I am free.

Go to the lowest,
and you’ll see the highest-
this Milarepa said.

Better at leaping and jumping
Since I learned self-trusting.

Three jewels, boundless lands
In which tall oak stands
I have faith in these
as I trust the trees.

Feet on the ground,
each step is sound,
walking by tall grass
that lets me pass.

what would eat
and taste so sweet
as barley flour
and not go sour?
without haste
without waste
a thousand lives
on wheat and bee hives.

50.
‘ life ‘

Life is to come, be here, say something, and be glad for having said it.
